Valérie Ducrot
Senior Advisor
Valérie Ducrot is the Executive Director of the Global Gas Centre based in Geneva, Switzerland (GGC). The GGC is an association bringing together leading gas industry stakeholders, which was
founded by major gas companies in December 2014. Our core aim is to encourage collective reflection on energy challenges and contribute to presenting how natural gas’s environmental and
economic qualities can make it a sustainable and global commodity in the energy transition towards a low-carbon economy. The GGC program consists mainly of meetings and roundtables organized by the GGC, sometimes in collaboration with our members or partners. Among the latter are the United Nations Trade & Development (UNCTAD), the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP), the International Society for Energy
Transition Studies (ISETS), and the Energy Policy Research Foundation Inc. (EPRINC).
Passionate for connections between energy and diplomacy, Valérie’s centers of professional interest include geopolitics of natural resources, climate action, security of supply, and
international relations. She believes building strategic partnerships is vital to enhancing energy security, diversification, and investments in new, cleaner technologies. She has been nominated
Ambassador of the Commodities Trading Club. She is also an Advisor to the Swiss Company SoHHytec.
From 2009 to 2014, Valérie Ducrot was the Manager of the UNECE (the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe) Gas Centre. Before, she occupied several positions at the French energy
company known today as ENGIE. During the last 27 years, she has gained extensive experience in the energy sector, particularly the gas sector, at a global level. She has an MBA from the Grande Ecole EMLYON and graduated in Business Administration in 1995. She also received a Master’s Degree in Political Sciences from the University of Lyon, France, in 2004. Additionally, Valérie has finished the Executive Diploma Program in International Relations and Business offered by the Ambassador Partnership, an international consultancy of former Ambassadors from 15 countries.
